The Competitive Program is designed for the more serious dancer and requires alot of time and commitment. Enrollment into this program is based upon the discretion of the instructors and owner/operator of Eurhythmics Dance Studio.
This program is designed for a student that would like to push their talent and passion further and go above their expectations. The competitive student must be enrolled in all required technical classes that include a strength and conditioning class, 1-2 jazz classes and 1-3 ballet classes (based on competitive level). Tap, hip hop and acro are optional but highly recommended to help your dancer become a well rounded dancer. Lyrical and contemporary are included within their ballet and jazz classes. Musical theatre is also available to the competitive dancer and therefore the dancer does not need to enrol in these classes during the week as “extra-choreography” classes will be scheduled on Fridays and/or Saturdays. The competitive student signs up for these extra classes at no additional charge as it is included in their yearly tuition.
There are 3 levels for the competitive program and they include the junior level (2-4 years of formal training), the intermediate level (5-7 years of formal training) and the senior level (8 years of formal training and up) Fees are calculated based on the level of the competitive dancer.
Costume deposits of $60/routine will be required at time of registration and/or sign up of extra groups and payable to Eurhythmics Dance Studio, Inc.
Competitive dancers are expected to participate in all festivals that the studio participates in. Festival dates are out prior to the commencement of group choreography. If you know that you are unable to attend any of the dates of the festivals chosen then the dancer must withdraw from the competitive program. The competitive dancers is part of our dance family and team and must commit themselves to the group for all scheduled events.
This program is designed to be a rewarding experience for the competitive dancer so everyone must work hard and work together to be successful. Remember, “It is not your team that carries you, it is you that carries your team”.
