For 14 years, Jodi studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and musical theatre in Calgary, AB completing various examinations in ballet (Royal Academy of Dance, Chechetti, D.E.S) tap and jazz (Al Gilbert, B.A.T.D) and paritcipated in various competitions and festivals throughout Alberta. At the age of 18, Jodi began her teaching career by sharing her passion for dance out of community centres in Calgary and the Cochrane area. In 1997, it was time to settle. Jodi settled in the beautiful town of Cochrane, AB where she opened and successfully established Eurhythmics Dance Studio, Inc. From here she then became a certified instructor and member of the Royal Academy of Dance and has also obtained certification with Acrobatic Arts, Module One. Jodi continues to further her studies and edjucation in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, contemporary and musical theatre by attending various seminars throughout Canada and the US. Over the years, Jodi’s students have received numerous awards and scholarships which also includes dancers that have gone on to further their dance career and train professionally at the School of the Alberta Ballet (Calgary), The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School (New York) and The Source Dance Company (Vancouver). On top of her student’s accomplishments, Jodi has received numerous awards of recongnition for her work as well as choreography awards. We are so pleased to have Heather back for her 9th season of instruction at Eurhythmics! Born and raised in Eckville, AB, Heather began her dance training at the age of 4. She studied tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical and of course, hip hop. Although she trained in these areas of dance, her passion lies in hip hop and street jazz. Heather began her teaching career at the age of 17 where she taught numerous classes of hip hop for all ages in Sylvan Lake, AB. Heather moved to Calgary 9 years ago where she joined the Eurhythmics Dance family as well as attending the University of Calgary where she completed her Bachelor of Arts in English. Heather continues to further her knowledge of the hip hop and street jazz techniques by attending various workshops offered throughout Alberta. Her performers have received various awards for their hard work and she has also received various choreography awards throughout festivals and competitions. Heather has become a valuable member of our faculty and family here at Eurhythmics Dance Studio. We are anxious to see what Heather will bring to her classes and choreography for our next season! Welcome back “Hip Hop Heather”!

Ashley Parker – Jazz, Musical Theatre, Certification in Acrobatic Arts and RAD Ballet

We are so excited that Ashley will be once again joining our dance family and faculty! Ashley began her training at Eurhythmics Dance Studio in 1998. What started as basic jazz training, soon became a juggle of many styles including Ballet (RAD), Tap, Musical Theatre, Lyrical/Contemporary, Hip Hop and Modern Dance. Upon finishing high school, she travelled to Vancouver to complete two seasons with Joanne Pesusich’s The Source Dance Company, where she studied extensively in Hip Hop, Jazz and Contemporary styles. There, she also had opportunities to perform at various events and venues in BC, and in the US – and touring with Groove Street Productions as a convention assistant. Past performance credits include; BC Sports Awards, Canada Day in Vancouver, “Concrete and Glass” (The Source Dance Company), “Stranded” (The Source Dance Company), “iYi: Dance Inspired” and Industrials (Telus).
Upon returning to Alberta, Ashley began teaching once more and discovered that her passion for teaching and love for dance came together in a harmonious relationship. She holds a Registered Teaching Status (RST) with The Royal Academy of Dance, and completed her certification with Acrobatic Arts, Module One. Ashley’s main focus for teaching is to foster love and passion for dance in each individual, in a safe and supportive environment – while providing equal opportunity for all children who wish to dance.

Teaching Assistants

Here at Eurhythmics, we believe that having an assistant in each class is very vital to a young dancers training. All of our assistants are of intermediate and/or senior dancers and have trained in various areas of dance here at Eurhythmics. Each assistant attends various workshops throughout the year such as Groovestreet, Triple Threat and various workshops throughout the summer. Not only are our assistants mentors to many dancers, their duties and responsibilities are to ensure the classes start on time and the dancers are warmed up and ready to go, aid the instructor in each lesson, demonstrate movements and choreography and being available for students that need extra assistance in their training such as tutoring both inside and outside the classroom.   We are pleased to announce our assistants for our 2016-2017  dance term.
